Yesterday's broad rebound has slowed, rather than broken. More stocks regained their moving averages, but the pool of advancing trends shrank again. The market remains Neutral — Fading. Tomorrow's routine still calls for selective chart review, rather than treating the rebound as permission to widen the search.

Energy's cushion meets a price setback

Energy's participation cushion, which we have been tracking, held unchanged. Price told a different story: it was the weakest sector today, and its monthly loss widened to 5.2% from 2.2%. A high advancing share alone is not evidence of fresh strength.

Health Care retained relative-strength leadership and led today's sector gains with a 1.1% rise. Pharmaceuticals has 43.3% in Stage 2, although that share has fallen 10.8 percentage points over 20 sessions. This remains a pocket for individual-stock screening, not a broad sector recovery.

IT gives back yesterday's improvement

IT's advancing share slipped to 21.4% from 21.9%, reversing part of yesterday's improvement. It still leads monthly sector returns at 8.5%. Financials also continued to erode, with advancing participation down to 17.1% from 17.8%.

NINtec Systems leads the early-stage setup list with a score of 7.8, followed by Alicon Castalloy at 7.4. These are screening candidates, not evidence that the market has turned. Further down that list, Persistent Systems is 4.6% above its own 50-day average. Indian Hotels Company offers another chart to examine within hotels, where advancing participation has expanded by 6.1 percentage points over 20 sessions.

Give departures priority

The five-session balance between basing-to-advancing and advancing-to-topping moves deteriorated to minus 79, a six-week low. That is a wider deficit than yesterday's minus 71.

Kajaria Ceramics and LMW moved from advancing into topping tonight. Shaily Engineering Plastics also left Stage 2, as did Concord Biotech despite Health Care's sector strength. For readers holding these names, reviewing the stage change deserves priority over adding fresh charts to tomorrow's watchlist.
