Nifty closed at 22,620, its lowest print in this 30-session window, the third straight losing session. Median setup score across the screen also slipped to its softest reading of the period. Nothing here says panic - no washout or capitulation flag has fired - but the tape is quietly worse under the surface than the index move alone suggests.

The pipeline is draining, not just today

Death crosses (10) have now outnumbered golden crosses (8) for three straight sessions, and today's death-cross count matches the highest seen in a month. Fifty-two-week highs minus lows is negative for a fifth consecutive session, with 273 stocks sitting at fresh 52-week lows against just 118 at highs. More telling: net Stage-2-to-Stage-3 transitions have run negative for twenty-five straight sessions. That is not a bad day - it is a month of steady bleed from advancing into topping and declining, even as the index chopped sideways-to-down rather than crashing.

Energy is the one sector adding, not subtracting

Every sector bar Energy has lost Stage-2 exposure over the past month. Energy has gone the other way, its Stage-2 share up seventeen points to 55%, the highest of any sector and the only one moving in the right direction. Contrast that with Financials, Real Estate and Utilities, all down seven to ten points on the same measure - the broad market's Stage-2 shrinkage is real and it is not being offset anywhere except energy names.

Health Care: strong on paper, ugly today

Health Care carries the best relative-strength score in the market and the best three-month return, yet it was today's worst-performing sector, down over 2%, dragged by a rough session in hospitals and diagnostics. That industry's Stage-2 share has fallen nearly thirteen points over the last month even as the sector's headline numbers still look strong - a sign the leadership there is narrowing, not broadening. A handful of pharma names - Wockhardt, Strides Pharma, Kilitch Drugs - still show up as early-stage Stage-2 setups close to their 50-day average, worth watching for stabilisation rather than chasing into a sector that just sold off hard. Separately, the highest-scoring trends on the screen today - Bhageria Industries, Spectrum Electrical, Raymond among them - are by definition the moves that have already run furthest. They tell you what led, not what to buy next. In a tape where breadth keeps eroding under a soft index, selectivity matters more than the headline number suggests.
