Heads up — Zerodha Kite charges ₹500/month for market data. Their trading API may be free, but live quotes (what the desk needs) sit behind this paid plan. Free alternatives: IIFL, Upstox, Fyers.
What you'll need
An active Zerodha Kite account and about two minutes. Everything happens in Zerodha Kite's portal — Stage2Stocks only receives the keys you copy at the end, never your password.
4 steps
01
Open the Kite Connect console
Sign in (or sign up) at developers.kite.trade, then My Apps → Create new app.
02
Choose the Kite Connect (paid) plan
Pick the Kite Connect plan — the free/Personal plan has NO market data. App name = anything; Zerodha Client ID = your Kite login id.
03
Set the Redirect URL
Paste https://www.stage2stocks.com/api/live/zerodha/callback into the Redirect URL field (editable later). Leave Postback URL blank.
04
Copy your keys
Open the app → copy the API Key and click Show API secret to copy the API Secret. Paste both into Settings → Broker.
Redirect URL — paste into the broker app
https://www.stage2stocks.com/api/live/zerodha/callbackWhere the keys go
Open Settings → Broker, choose Zerodha Kite, paste your API Key + API Secret, and save. Then open the Live Desk and click Authenticate.

Question
Paid: Kite Connect with market data is ~₹500/month per API key. The free plan does not include quotes.
Answer
Yes — plan for this before you connect.
Question
The access token expires daily (~6 AM IST) — you re-authenticate once each day.
Answer
Handled automatically — nothing extra for you to do.
Question
Does this place trades?
Answer
No. The connection is read-only — it pulls real-time market data and never places orders.
Question
Is it safe to add my keys?
Answer
Your keys are encrypted at rest and never shared. Login and 2FA always happen on Zerodha Kite's own site, so Stage2Stocks never sees your broker password.
