Yesterday's softer daily breadth gave way to much broader participation. That improves the case for refreshing watchlists tomorrow, though the market remains Neutral — Fading. The rebound is reaching more stocks without yet rebuilding the advancing cohort.

Repair takes a meaningful step

Nifty rose 0.6% to 23,961, still just below its 200-day average at 24,004. Yearly lows fell to 150 from yesterday's 244, a six-week low. Yet yearly highs still trailed lows by 58. Longer-term participation remains thin, with only 36% above their 200-day average. Over the last five sessions, 12 stocks moved from basing to advancing while 107 moved from advancing to topping. Tomorrow's screening needs to distinguish a recovering price from an established advancing trend.

Industrials takes the daily lead

Ports offers a narrow pocket of participation within Industrials: all its stocks are in Stage 2, but the group contains only three companies. Health Care retains the strongest sector relative strength, with biotechnology still showing an 11.1-point expansion over 20 sessions. Sugar, which we highlighted yesterday, weakened beneath its 3.8% rise: advancing participation fell to 51.7% from 58.6%. Energy's price and participation gap also widened, with Stage 2 share down to 41.4% despite a 0.9% gain.

Keep the stock checks selective

Tech Mahindra still heads the early setups with a score of 8.2, although Information Technology fell 0.4%. Kotak Mahindra Bank follows at 7.9; Punjab National Bank remains an early candidate, but Financials has only 19.7% advancing participation. Sejal Glass offers an early Industrials setup, while Krishna Defence & Allied Industries entered Stage 2 tonight and also appears among the early names. These are chart-review candidates, not confirmation that the market has repaired. Existing watchlists also need attention: Samvardhana Motherson International and Steel Authority of India moved into topping. Aegis Logistics did too, reinforcing the Energy warning.
