Get your Dhan API keys

The live desk uses your own Dhan account for real-time prices. Create an app in Dhan's portal, then paste its keys into your Stage2Stocks Broker page.

The 3 steps

  1. Open DhanHQ Trading APIs

    In Dhan web (web.dhan.co), click your profile icon (top-right) → DhanHQ Trading APIs.

  2. Generate an Access Token

    Create / generate an Access Token (a long token string). Also note your Dhan Client ID (the numeric customer id).

  3. Paste them into Stage2Stocks

    Open your Broker page (in the account menu), choose Dhan, paste the Access Token and Client ID, save. (Dhan has no login-redirect — the token is what authenticates.)

Where the keys go

Open your Broker page (in the account menu), choose Dhan, paste your Access Token + Client ID, and save. Then open the live desk and your shortlist goes live.

Good to know

  • Plan for this: Live market data needs Dhan's paid Data API (~₹499/month). The trading API itself is free.
  • The access token expires roughly every 30 days — regenerate and re-paste when it stops working.
